I'm Grant Garcelon, an aspiring software engineer originally from California but now proud to call the Charlotte area my home. I hold a bachelor's degree in computer science from Western Carolina University, where I also had the opportunity to work as a teacher's assistant, helping students grasp the fundamentals of coding.
During my sophomore year at WCU, I was honored to receive the intermediate computer science award for excellence, recognizing my hard work as a student. My most significant project thus-far is the Forensic Anthropology Database Application (BonesDB), It was developed to be used internally by Western Carolina University's Forensic Anthropology program. My capstone partner and I were specifically selected to work on this application as our advisor was confident we would produce a secure and robust application.
I'm thrilled to share that I've just embarked on my tech career with Duke Energy as an IT Support Analyst. In this role, I contribute to the management of Duke Energy's Technical Infrastructure, which is truly exciting. I'm enthusiastic about learning how large-scale technical infrastructure is structured and managed, as well as gaining hands-on experience with the facilitating tools. Collaborating with a talented and capable team fuels my excitement for personal and professional growth within this excellent company.
